Simulation of BPMN 2.0 models in ARIS 10
Hi Everyone,
We have few models done in BPMN 2.0, which we would like to conduct simulation experiments on. Since we are new and almost references lead us to simulation of EPC models, can someone help us with examples or reference materials for the same.
Thanks,
Subash
Maximun number of objects in a lane/maximum length of a lanr
Hi,
I have a requirement to create a process map using bpmn 2.0, which is pretty large and has around 700 steps/objects to go into a single model. I have a constraint not to use subprocesses or split and knit processes together by an vacd.
So when trying to create a single map with 700 objects, ARIS 10 wouldn't allow me to cross morebthan 150 objects and my lanes and pools are getting freezed.
Can someone help me know, if there are any constraint over the number of ibjects/lanr length in ARIS10.
Appreciate ur help

Drawing Subprocess Boundary Interrupting Messages
Hello,
I am new to BPMN & grateful for advice regarding a interrupting message event attached to a subprocess boundary.
The exception sequence flow for the interrupting message should complete & rejoin the subprocess at the point it left.
Firstly, is it correct to join the exception sequence flow back to the subprocess?
Secondly, how do I draw the join so the sequence doesn't start at the beginning of the subprocess again?
Many thanks in advance.
Multi Pool process with Looping Subprocess
Hi,
I have just drawn my first Multi Pool process with a Looping Subprocess. I'd be very grateful if anyone can advise if I've drawn it correctly?
The intention is for the Print Pool to handle the production of a print file, which should be run 4 times sequentially - I've wrapped this part in a Looping Subprocess - is this correct?
The Prepare & Issue Pool handles the letters themselves. As each letter is a separate process instance, am I correct in adding the Multi Instance indicator to the Pool to show the letters are actually dealt with as a batch & all go through the preparation process at the same time. I think if I didn't have this indicator, the diagram would mean each letter goes through the process before the next iteration starts. If the Multi Instance indicator is not correct, how do I model the letters being handled as a batch.
(I have been learning using Bruce Silver's Method & Style)
Thank you in advance.

Help In modeling
Hi ! Can somebody help me to model this ?
I have no idea how to draw the green task. They are supposed to be messages that appers to the user after finishing some tasks.
Thank u so much
Message flows between black box pools
Looking for advice please:
I am modelling a process where information packs are issued to our customers. Using Business Rules, the pack is either issued directly by us or customer information is passed to a mailing house, who issue the pack on our behalf.
Should I model the information pack message flow from Mailing House to our Customer (both are black box pools in my diagram)?
Thanks, Ann
Message Flow
Hello Community :)
I have a question:
I would like to design a Message flow from Task A to Task B AND Task C.
A messages {B and C}.
Im confused about the different possibilities to design a message flow.
Which one is correct to "inform" other lanes and start a task.
*edit: okay, i made a big fault to confuse pools and lanes.
Best Regards
BPMN Process Diagram _ Fehler bei manueller Anpassung der Breite von Swimlanes
Hallo Zusammen,
Selim
Business Architecture Driven Solution Delivery
Business Architecture Driven Solution Delivery
The Business Architecture Solution Delivery method ensures that you have alignment between the business layer and the supporting application & technology layers. Below you will find a short summary of how this is achieved.
1.Project Context
Make sure you identify your L1 processes from your Business Architecture and indicate the association to the project i.e.
Project refers to Process
Project adds Process
Project removes Process
Project changes Process
This allows one to have a view of which projects impact which processes in the enterprise and ensures that all design artifacts associated to the process is maintained for future change requests
2.Define (Update) L2 process
Define or design the L2 process associated to the parent L1 process indicating mostly sub-processes. Sub-processes with associated requirements (user stories) are then candidates for sea level use cases or user goal use cases. Each sub-process can have zero to many associated user stories (requirements).
3.Design sea level use case diagram
Harvest sub-processes with associated requirements from the L2 process diagrams and design the use case diagram. The purpose here is to understand the impact on human actors and technical actors (applications) and to estimate the development effort using use case point calculations. This drives the target solution architecture and can be complimented by adding the Logical Views, Implementation Views & Deployment Views
4.Detail Analysis & Design
Now you have an initial product backlog consisting of L2 processes, associated use cases (sea level) and associated user stories. The product backlog can now be prioritized and work can start on expanding the high priority use cases into the relevant detail i.e.
- Detail sub-process flows indicating default paths, alternative paths & exceptions
- Screen navigation & associated screen designs
- Sequence diagrams
- Data model & class diagrams
- Component diagrams
- Deployment diagram’s etc.
Here is a link to an example project where the above was applied Project Movie Magic
The content was modeled in ARIS and published to Confluence & JIRA using the aris2confluence bridge from BPMUtils.com
Convert from EPC to BPMN
Hi all
Need some help. I need to convert EPC to BPMN in ARIS.
i looked at the video titled 'Learn how EPC can be transformed into BPMN' in the forum but it assumes there is a Webmethods option. I am not able to see this in Business Architect.
Can someone please help? There are a few models and I do not want to do them manually

Possibilty of converting enterprise BPMN to "ordinary" bpmn
Hello process experts
We'd like to use epc as well as bpmn notation. The enterprise bpmn collaboration model seems to be a good way to use the same process references using role lanes e.g.
Unfortunately the enterprise bpmn collaboration model doesn't comply with the OMG BPMN 2.0 standard.
Is there any possibility of converting enterprise bpmn collaboration models to "ordinary" bpmn 2.0 models to ensure bpmn-process-exchanges with organisations not using ARIS?
Thanking you in anticipation

ARIS Cloud - BPMN Export
Hi, has anyone tried the BPMN export function on ARIS Cloud?
I'm using the ARIS Cloud trial version and could not seem to make it work. I created a BPMN model and tried to export it using the BPMN export function on the Repository page but the "Validating BPMN export ..." just keeps running for a long time and I'm not getting any error message. Is there another way to export BPMN 2.0 models?
model the process by BPMN
There are two roles – Worker A and Worker B. Worker A begins with ‘Task A’. When ‘Task A’ is finished Worker A must complete ‘Task B’ and ‘Task C’ in any order (‘Task B’ and ‘Task C’ are parallel tasks). When both are completed Worker A then completes ‘Task D’. During ‘Task C’ a message is sent to Worker B. After Worker B receives the message they begin ‘Task E’. When ‘Task E’ and ‘Task D’ are completed the process is successfully completed.
Assignment symbol showing with no model assigned
Hello community
We have a slight issue in 9.7: many of our BPMN tasks and VACD process steps are expanding into BPMN diagrams using assignments. Now, we are considering adding Function Allocation Diagrams (FAD), assigned to some tasks to add more task information (Class diagrams used, SAP functions, etc...).
Some modelers are not interested in these FAD.
The issue is that if the FAD is removed in the filter, the tasks assigned to a FAD (only) still show the assignment icon, and return a "No Model are assigned to the object" message. We are not really inclined using the BPMN sub-process, as we wish to keep the same logic in BPMN as when expanding VACD steps into BPMN with an assignment.
Any suggestion? Would it make sense to avoid displaying the assignment icon when no assigned models can be reached?

Best 70 BPM softwares : Open Source and Free BPM Tools
Business Process Management (BPM) tools are used for 5 (100%) 14 ratings modelling, optimizing, automating and measuring the business processes. BPMN is a is a standard for business process modeling which provides a graphical representation for specifying business processes in a business process model. This is presented in a Business Process Diagram (BPD), based on a flowcharting technique very similar to activity diagrams from Unified Modeling Language (UML). The primary goal is to provide a standard notation readily understandable by all business stakeholders. These stakeholders include the business analysts who create and refine the processes, the technical developers responsible for implementing them, and the business managers who monitor and manage them.

Aris Express non compliant with the BPMN specification
Hello,
I use ARIS frequently for training and consulting missions and noticed that there are two modelling details in which Aris Express is not compliant with the BPMN specification:
1) The message flow must be dashed and not dotted. According to the specification:
With a dotted line in Aris Express. It is possible to change manually the dotted arrow into a dashed one in the properties, but this is not very convenient:
2) The event subprocess has a dotted boundary, not a dashed one (like in Aris Express), both the expanded and collapsed event subprocess. According to the BPMN spec:
In Aris Express there are dashed lines:
I wonder if somebody else has reported this already, since especially the message flow is already used in basic process models, but I couldn't find another post on it. Is it possible to correct this, please? How fast can SAG correct these sort of errors?
Thanks a lot in advance!
